How training with Barkitects works
Step 1: New Puppy Consultation
At this 90 minute consultation, all your pressing questions will be answered, training jumpstarted and a long term plan put in place. Get relief in all the areas that will help get your life back on track (often nipping and potty training) and start training skills to make day to day life easier. Any budding fears or issues will be addressed. Long term training plans options will be offered based on YOUR needs. $225
Step 2: Pick your training option

For the busiest of pet parents! Short on time or feeling overwhelmed? Have the heavy lifting done for you. Get the quick progress you need without sending your best friend away.
The trainer visits your dog 3-5 times per week for training and socialization trips. Package focus (what skills, socialization exerpiences ) are selected at the consultsultation. Every 7-10 days, you have a lesson to learn how to take advantage of your dog’s new found skills and maintain them.
This is the best way to ensure your puppy is getting the needed socialization and training while you work or get what you need to done. You spend more time just enjoying the puppy!

Lessons are in the convenience of your home or out in public (when appropriate). You and your puppy are coached in building new skills & learning good manners. Not only will you get the obedience you want, but the relationship you dream of having with your dog! Behavior problem prevention strategies will also be covered.
Lessons are done in packages to keep you on track.

Any early warning signs of problematic behavior (such as resource guarding, shyness, fears or leash reactivity) are identified to help you get ahead of any oncoming problems. Of course, puppy basics for obedience is started as well.

Day School allows Barkitects to do a good chunk of the work for you. Top priorities tend to be nipping, socialization and skill building such as loose leash walking, settling, waiting at thresholds, drop it, etc.
The trainer handles socialization, confidence building and teaches all the behaviors you want. You just learn how to maintain them.

EVERYTHING. Typical puppy problems such as housetraining, nipping, stealing, countersurfing, preventing reactivity and other problematic behaviors are troubleshooted.
Handling exercises to ensure your pup is comfortable being care for at home or the vet/groomer are practiced.
Socialization trips to build a confident, friendly dog will be taken. And, of course, you get started working on training - sit, down, come, stay, no pulling, no jumping, waiting at thresholds, drop it, etc.

At Barkitects, you’ll learn to use positive reinforcement with your puppy to start building good habits and develop the close relationship you want with your dog. The whole picture is looked at to ensure the puppy’s needs are being met which is often where problematic behavior occurs. Through the use of reward based training, skills like loose leash walking and stay are built. Counter conditioning and desensitization are used for any fear issues. You will not find choke, prong, or e-collars in our program.

Day School sessions are approximately 1 hour in length (sometimes a little less for just a training session, a little more for a socialization trip) and are done 3-5 days a week. These may be at your home or out in public places depending on goals/readiness. Owner transfer lessons (1 hour) are done every 7-10 days.
One on one coaching lessons are 1 hour in length and scheduled weekly to biweekly. Lessons are done in packages to keep you on track moving forward.

The New Puppy Consultation is $225.
Day School - A four week long “3+1” program is $3050 + tax. Pricing is adjusted based on number of lessons per week and length of program. For more information on Day School pricing and all that is included, check out the Day School page.
One-on-one lessons are offered in packages to keep clients on track, making progress towards your goals and troubleshooting any issues that crop up. Packages are discounted by quantity from the hourly rate of $180/ hour + tax. A six pack of lessons is $999.
Travel fees may be incurred.
